ABOUT OUR TRAINING PROGRAM AT
Our Facilities
Stargazey’s Equine Therapy Center is located in Jackson, Ohio in the heart of Appalachia. Our facility offers exceptional amenities to support each horse’s development, including a 270′ x 135′ arena, a 120′ x 66′ arena, a 60-foot round pen, a thoughtfully designed trail obstacle course, and acres of scenic hacking trails and drive-able paths. All fields are enclosed with 4-board fencing, and we offer both pasture and dry lot turnout tailored to individual needs. In addition to our on-site resources, we are fully equipped to trailer out to national park trails, horse shows, and other equine venues, depending on the direction you wish to take your horse’s training journey.
Our facility has been thoughtfully developed to cater to the unique needs of both horses and ponies, providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where every equine can thrive. We recognize that horses and ponies often have distinct physical and emotional needs, and our setup reflects that understanding—from the design of our turnout spaces to the variety of training areas available. Whether working with a young pony just starting their journey or a full-sized horse preparing for the show ring, we ensure that every aspect of their care and training is adapted to suit their individual requirements. With a focus on comfort, safety, and positive experiences, our facility is a place where equines of all sizes receive the attention and respect they deserve, helping them grow into calm, confident, and content partners.
HOW TO BECOME A TRAINING CLIENT
We accept horses and ponies of all ages for evaluations, foundational groundwork, and show preparation, focusing on manners, handling, desensitization, and confidence-building. Weanlings through 3-year-olds are welcomed for early education and non-weight-bearing work. For formal saddle or harness training, we prefer horses to be at least 4 years old. Whether your goal is to build a solid foundation for a young horse or refine skills in preparation for the show ring, our training program is designed to meet your equine partner where they are and help them progress with patience and purpose.
Training starts at $1200 per month and includes daily care, onsite training, and high-quality hay. Additional services such as trailering to other facilities, showing, veterinary and farrier care, supplemental feed, clipping, and more are available by arrangement. All horses must be fully vaccinated, have a current Coggins, a health certificate, and clearance by a veterinarian for training. We are happy to discuss your horse’s individual needs and tailor a program that supports their development, well-being, and success—both here at Stargazey’s and beyond.
